UPS Installation Case Study – Government Facility
DE Power Solutions was appointed by a leading electrical contractor to deliver the supply, installation, commissioning, and integrated systems testing (IST) of a mission critical uninterruptible power supply (UPS) system for a government facility in Ireland. The project formed a key part of the facility’s resilient electrical infrastructure designed to maintain uninterrupted operation of critical digital services.
Project Scope
The project involved the complete delivery of high-capacity Riello UPS infrastructure including supply, installation, commissioning and testing. DE Power Solutions coordinated streamed Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT), site delivery, mechanical and electrical installation, battery build, battery monitoring installation, load bank testing and full Integrated Systems Testing (IST).

Battery Installation
The project included installation of large-scale Yuasa battery infrastructure on open rack systems. DE Power Solutions completed mechanical rack assembly, battery placement, interconnection, torque verification, polarity checks and integration of a cell-by-cell battery monitoring system. This provides continuous monitoring of battery health and early fault detection to maximise reliability.
Testing and Commissioning
Prior to shipment, streamed Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) was carried out to verify system functionality and performance. Following installation, DE Power Solutions conducted comprehensive load bank testing to validate UPS capacity and operational stability. The project concluded with Integrated Systems Testing (IST) to confirm the UPS systems operated seamlessly within the wider data centre power infrastructure.
Project Outcome
The installation delivered 3.6 MVA of resilient UPS capacity supporting the government facility’s critical power infrastructure. The project was completed successfully in line with programme requirements and technical standards, demonstrating DE Power Solutions’ ability to execute complex UPS infrastructure projects in mission critical environments.
